Established in the Tulbagh Valley by founder Johan Olde-Olthof, who arrived in South Africa in May 1965, the factory began as a small workshop producing just 50 pairs of handmade shoes a day.
Through Johan’s vision and dedication, Tarzan Shoes has grown into a globally recognised name in South African leather craftsmanship, now producing around 750 pairs daily.
Despite this growth, our values remain unchanged — we use only the finest leather and continue to handcraft most of our shoes with the same attention to detail that started it all.
